Weight Management During Menopause

Menopause, including perimenopause, is frequently accompanied by sudden weight gain, particulary around the abdomen and stomach. This is due to various factors including: (1) a reduction in calorie needs caused by a reduction in our muscle tissue; (2) a reduction in calorie expenditure caused by taking less exercise; (3) the influence of hormones on our appetite and metabolism.
