Hip and Thigh Diet Plan Theory
The implication behind “Hip and Thigh Diets” is that they reduce fat on your hips and thighs. If only this was true!! Sadly, the idea you can lose weight from specific areas of the body is another diet myth. It is simply not possible to choose the location of the fat or weight you want to lose.
The Truth about Weight Loss and Fat
When the number of calories consumed is lower than the number of calories expended, the body loses weight. But where this weight loss occurs is determined by our genes, not the diet we follow. Generally speaking, fat deposited on a woman’s hips and thighs is one of the last bits of fat to be used up when dieting.
Verdict
A nutritionally balanced, calorie-controlled hip and thigh diet may lead to long term weight loss, but such weight loss will occur from wherever the body chooses. And if you are a woman, this weight loss is most unlikely to come initially from your hips and thighs! So ignore the diet-hype.
A Note about Healthy Weight Control
Fad diets, unbalanced diets, diet pills, diet supplements, weight loss surgery and other short term weight loss methods are not recommended for permanent weight control. The best way to lose excess fat and maintain a healthy weight in the long term is to follow a balanced calorie-controlled diet (that improves your eating habits) and take regular aerobic exercise.
